Peachtree Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, relationship-driven High School Science Teacher to join our amazing team for the Fall 2026 school year.

Peachtree Academy is a Christian-focused Pre-K through 12th grade college preparatory school located in Covington. Teaching Opportunities

Flexibility in teaching courses including:

  • Physical Science
  • Chemistry
  • Robotics

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging lessons, labs, projects, and classroom discussions
  • Evaluate and grade class work, assignments, papers, and exams
  • Prepare syllabi, instructional materials, and coursework
  • Maintain attendance, grades, and student records
  • Provide after-class support and academic guidance to students
  • Plan and revise curriculum and instructional methods
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration
  • Participate in school activities, student support, and community-building efforts
  • Support the Christian mission and positive culture of the school

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Education, or related field
  • Teaching experience preferred

What You'll Do

  • Supervise students in all aspects of the learning day.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers.
  • Write grant proposals to procure external research funding.
  • Supervise students' laboratory and field work.
  • Prepare course materials, such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.
  • Advise students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  • Select and obtain materials and supplies, such as textbooks and laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as serving as department head.
  • Participate in student recruitment, registration, and placement activities.
  • Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
  • Compile bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading assignments.
  • Participate in campus and community events.
  • Act as advisers to student organizations.

About Peachtree Prep, our Early Childhood Division

The early childhood division of the school bases its academic program on a weekly unit of study for academic advancement. Teachers use lesson plans to guide the delivery of information and address individual issues of advanced skill levels or areas of improvement that are needed. Parents may supplement the curriculum by bringing in books, materials, or ideas related to the theme for the benefit of the class.
