Based in La Crosse, this support staff member opening at Red Balloon Early Learning Centers, Inc pays $13 – $14.50/Hr and requires no formal early childhood credentials to start.
Red Balloon Early Learning Centers, Inc. is looking for a strong Infant/Toddler teacher who is very energetic and has a positive attitude.
We are looking for someone who is flexible, nurturing and makes learning fun.
We are seeking a DCF certified Infant/Toddler teacher who has experience working with infants.
Pay will be based on education and experience.
Benefits are offered after 90 days of full-time employment. Sick and Holiday pay, supplemental insurance, IRA contributions and fringe benefits.
After 6 months you will also receive vacation pay.
What You'll Do
Specific duties of a lead infant/ toddler:
Be familiar with and knowledgeable about all information given on each infant/toddler's intake for child under 2 year form.
Be familiar with and ensure that all feeding, diapering and sleeping rules outlined in the state licensing guidelines are strictly followed.
Respond promptly to a crying infant/toddler's needs: Allow each child to form and follow their own pattern of sleeping and waking.
Give each child physical contact and attention throughout the day: change the position/location of each non-mobile child periodically, allow mobile infant/toddlers opportunities to move freely throughout a safe classroom area and encourage play.
Create monthly lesson plans and carry out all aspects of daily classroom programming using the Creative Curriculum.
Complete child assessments for all children in their classroom.
Hold parent/teacher conferences and meetings.
Manage child portfolios
Observe children following the child observation policy
Offer a program that meets the emotional, physical, cognitive and social needs of the individual children in your group.
Supervise children and ensure that all health, safety and security needs are met.
Attend all mandatory training/meeting along with keeping up on your CEU’s
Ensure that all health, safety and sanitation rules are met and followed.
Follow positive guidance with all children equally.
Interact with children as they engage in all learning experiences
Promote positive self-image in children through body language and tone of voice.
Requirements
Within 6 months of assuming the position as infant/toddler teacher or infant/toddler assistant teacher, employee must have met the education requirements outlined by the DCF 251 licensing guidelines for infant/toddler child care staff.
Must have completed a minimum of 10 hours of training in infant & toddler care approved by the State, such as the Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care self-study course through Early Education Station or Infant and Toddler Credential approved by the Registry of Wisconsin
