Lead Teacher, Preschool
About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically. You will design and implement a high-quality lesson plans, manage daily classroom operations, and build strong partnerships with families to support each child's unique development. You will work closely with an Assistant Teacher in a playbased, hands-on classroom of 13 children.
What You'll Do
- Plan and execute an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with Shadow Rock Preschool's playbased learning philosophy.
- Lead daily classroom activities, including circle time, small group lessons, outdoor play, and creative arts.
- Assess and document child progress, behavioral milestones, and developmental growth to share with parents during conferences.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that complies with all state licensing regulations.
- Cooperate and collaborate with the assistant teacher to ensure a cohesive instructional team.
Requirements
- minimum of a High School degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a lead or assistant teacher in a licensed preschool setting.
- Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
Nice to Have
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
- Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent state certification.
- Current Arizona Food Handlers Card, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
- Experience working with children who have diverse learning needs or exceptionalities

- Shadow Rock Preschool also pays for teachers who have been on staff for at least a year maintain their CDA.
