Extended Care Teacher
About This Role
Shoreline Learning Center in Austin, TX is seeking a qualified Extended Care Teacher to work with Mixed / All Ages in a center-based, faith-based program environment. This position requires a willingness to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, with employer support.
Our Extended Care Teachers provide engaging activities, active supervision, and nurturing care while helping children transition smoothly through the afternoon and end of their day. The ideal candidate is flexible, responsible, and enjoys working with children of different ages.

What You'll Do
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children during extended care hours
- Actively supervise children at all times and follow all health and safety procedures
- Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities, games, and experiences
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Assist with classroom transitions and end-of-day routines
- Communicate professionally and positively with families during pick-up
- Maintain clean, organized, and inviting classroom and play spaces
- Work collaboratively with teachers and administrative staff
- Follow Texas Rising Star standards and Texas Child Care Regulation requirements
Requirements
- 18 years of age
- Able to pass criminal and name-based background check
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with young children
- Strong Communication and organizational skills
Nice to Have
- CDA or 12 hours college credit in Child Development or Early Childhood Education
- Two years experience working in a licensed child care center
- Can drive 13 passenger van to assist with pick-up of elementary school students
