  • Adapt activities to suit different age groups and skill levels
  • Keep campers engaged, motivated, and included

3. Mentorship & Support

  • Act as positive role models
  • Help campers build confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Provide emotional support, especially for homesick campers
  • Encourage teamwork and respect among campers

4. Behavior Management

  • Set clear expectations and maintain discipline in a fair, positive way
  • Address conflicts between campers and promote conflict resolution
  • Reinforce good behavior and participation

5. Communication

  • Communicate with camp directors and staff about camper progress or issues
  • Provide updates to parents when needed
  • Work collaboratively with other counselors and staff

  • Lead group events like campfires, games, or performances
  • Encourage participation and camp spirit

8. Professional Responsibility

  • Follow camp policies and guidelines
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions
  • Be punctual, organized, and dependable
