We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to lead our 2s and 3s classroom at our private, faith-based preschool in Spartanburg, SC. In this role, you will enjoy smaller class sizes that allow for deeply personalized care and low student-to-teacher ratios. You will guide toddlers through critical milestones by blending faith-focused character building, play-based learning, and regular enrichment in our dedicated outdoor learning center.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage exploration, creativity, and spiritual and language development.
- Utilize our specialized outdoor learning center daily to lead nature-inspired exploration, physical development, and play-based environmental discovery.
- Leverage our smaller class sizes to provide individualized focus, tracking developmental milestones and supporting children closely with social skills, emotional regulation, and potty training.
- Maintain the exceptional standards required of a 5-star Quality Counts facility, including participating in continuous quality loop assessments and professional development.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with families through daily updates and regular progress communications.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment, including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and safety and security of children.
Requirements
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; child development coursework preferred.
- At least one year of professional experience working with toddlers or young children in a licensed childcare setting.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive South Carolina background check, fingerprinting, and central registry check.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain them within 30 days of hire.
Nice to Have
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Prior experience teaching in a faith-based early childhood environment or incorporating spiritual foundations into daily care.
- Familiarity with Spartanburg Quality Counts Guidelines.
