About This Role
Located in the heart of North Conway, The Lilliputian School is a non-profit community school in the Mount Washington Valley that offers Timbernook programming year round. Timbernook is a 100% outdoor, nature-based program that provides rich and meaningful play experiences for participants. Our enrichment program is for children 5-12 years of age. The Assistant Timbernook position supports the Lead Timbernook Teacher by helping to create a fun and safe environment for the children. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. This position requires moving, hauling and setting up play experiences in our nearby forest space. Staff must be able to walk up to a mile each day and lift heavy objects. Staff spend the entirety of the program outdoors. This position is part-time, with anywhere between 5-15 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours on top of that.

- Monday 12:00-5:00PM
- Wednesday 12:00-5:00 PM
- Friday 12:00-5:00PM

What You'll Do
- Help run and support the lead Timbernook teacher to run enrichment programming for 5-12 year olds.
- Observe and watch children during the program.
- Assist Lead in taking children to and from our main campus to our forest space.
- Take directions and guidance from the Lead Teacher.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transitions.
- Clean and reset forest space under direction from the Lead teacher.
- Clean, organize and put Timbernook materials away daily.
- Follow all policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Have interest and a willingness to expand knowledge in Timbernook and its philosophy.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years and have a high school diploma.
- Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR training.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn the Timbernook philosophy.
- Must clear background recrod check.
- Must qualify as an associate level teacher under the NH child care licensing rules.
Nice to Have
- Experience in outdoor programming.
- Experience woking with children 5-12.
- Bachelors degree in ECE and/or outdoor education
