About This Role
We're on the hunt for a passionate Toddler Teacher to join our team. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working with young children and brings a nurturing approach to their role.
As a Toddler Teacher, you'll be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that fosters the growth and well-being of our children. You'll work closely with our Director, co-teachers, and parents to develop curriculum that caters to each child's unique needs and abilities.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our children
- Establish a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Supervise daily activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom
- Regularly observe and assess children's development, adjusting your approach as needed to ensure their continued growth
- Build strong relationships with families through open communication, regular updates, and collaborative partnerships
- Conduct bi-annual parent-teacher conferences to discuss children's progress and set goals for future development
- Employ Conscious Discipline techniques to promote positive behaviors and reinforce healthy habits in our children
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting children and/or equipment, and engage in standing, sitting, and bending for extended periods
- Demonstrate a warm and supportive attitude towards children, providing a sense of security and belonging
- Be adaptable and responsive to changes within the program, prioritizing the needs of our children and families
- Perform additional tasks as required to ensure the smooth operation of the program
- Able and willing to have fun with the children!
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Registry of Wisconsin certificate or ability to become lead teacher certified (we provide all necessary materials to reach lead teacher certification)
- 15 hours of training in infant and toddler care for teachers assigned to this age group, to be completed within 6 months of assuming the position
Nice to Have
- At least 2 years of experience working in the child care field, with a proven track record of success
- Current CPR/First Aid Training, SBS Training, and Child Abuse and Neglect Training
- Bilingual skills, with proficiency in both English and Spanish
