What You'll Do
- Provide Nurturing Care and Safety: Create a nurturing and safe environment for infants, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Utilize Provided Curriculum: Utilize curriculum and classroom resources to enhance learning experiences for infants.
- Lead Engaging Activities: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that promote learning and exploration.
- Collaborate with Supportive Staff: Work alongside friendly and supportive staff members who are committed to creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress.
- Student assessments: Conduct developmental screenings, thoughtful observations, documentation and individualized planning.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a daycare or childcare setting
- Knowledge of early childhood care and childhood development
- Understanding of early childhood education principles and practices
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students
- Familiarity with special education strategies and accommodations
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children
- Ability to create a structured and engaging classroom environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and move around actively throughout the day
- CPR & First Aid certified, STARS 30-hour training (or willingness to complete upon hire) , WA background check & fingerprinting, TB test, MMR vaccine, Bloodborne Pathogens & Safe Sleep training, and WA Food Handler’s Permit required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including classroom setup and cleanup
- Full-time position: must be able to work flexible hours as needed
